How Orders Move

Carrier & Freight Selection

Some shipments are sent by UPS Ground, while others ship by Freight Truck/LTL or another common carrier. BelTile may select the method that is most appropriate for the material, shipment size, warehouse and destination.

Shipping and freight charges are passed through to the customer. Expedited options may be available for an additional cost.

Estimated Delivery Timing

Transit Time

In-stock materials ordered before Noon Eastern time typically* ship 1–2 business days after we receive your order. Most ground shipping times can be found in the map, but UPS Ground is not a guaranteed service. Freight/Truck/LTL transit times are generally similar, although freight transit can vary.

For all shipments, the day of pickup does not count as a transit day. Some shipments will be sent by Freight Truck/LTL or a common carrier at our discretion. We are happy to provide a more specific estimate by phone or by email at sales@beltile.com.

Carrier transit estimates are not guaranteed. We can also identify alternative ways to expedite your material when timing is an issue.

We ship from a variety of origin points, although many of our most popular products ship from the Northeast. If you need details about a particular product or order, please contact us. Expedited shipping may be available upon request for an additional cost.

*This is not guaranteed, but we do our best.

Small-Package Shipping

Samples

We use UPS for our small-package orders. Generally, we do not offer the ability to use a customer's own account number or another carrier because it can delay processing. We reserve the right to use the carrier that works best with the warehouse from which the product ships.

Sample shipping can appear expensive because UPS and FedEx apply minimum package charges. These shipping charges are passed through to the customer.

Ordering samples from home can save the time and travel required to visit multiple showrooms. To estimate the freight for a future product order, enter an approximate quantity in the shopping cart and compare the available shipping options.

Delivery Options

Residential Deliveries

The best way to save on shipping is to consolidate as much as possible. Some orders under 150 pounds ship by UPS Ground, while others ship by common carrier or freight line.

Add the desired quantity to your cart and look for the “Freightquote” option. This is the freight-shipping method. The charge is passed through to the customer.

If a rate appears out of range, please contact us. It is normal for shipping on approximately 100 square feet of tile to cost $200 or more.

Terminal Pickup

Customers whose material ships by freight line can often save considerably by selecting terminal pickup. The customer collects the material from the carrier's terminal after it arrives in the destination area.

Please call us so we can review nearby carrier terminals and determine whether this option is practical for your area. Tile is heavy, so the pickup vehicle must be able to safely carry the shipment's payload.

Commercial Deliveries

Commercial customers with a receiving dock or forklift may qualify for better freight rates. Please contact us before ordering so we can review the destination and request the appropriate commercial-delivery rate.

International Orders

Some product orders and samples can ship internationally or directly from an overseas origin. Timing, available methods, documentation and charges vary by destination.

Duties, taxes, customs fees and local import charges may apply and are generally the customer's responsibility.

Heavy & Fragile Materials

How Tile May Be Packed

Packaging depends on the product, quantity, warehouse and carrier. Stone tile and other heavy materials may be packed vertically in a reinforced crate with protective foam around the interior perimeter and across exposed faces.

Smaller or lighter products may ship in cartons, on pallets or by small-package carrier. The final method is selected to suit the material and shipment.

At Delivery

Receiving Your Shipment

Inspect cartons, pallets and crates before signing the delivery receipt. Photograph the shipment and note any visible irregularities clearly on the carrier's delivery document.

  • Count the cartons, pallets or crates.
  • Check the exterior packaging before signing.
  • Keep photographs and delivery paperwork.
  • Retain packaging while any claim is reviewed.

Report concealed damage promptly and keep all packing materials until the matter has been reviewed.
